Sunny days.

Hawaii is pretty awesome.

I arrived Wednesday morning of last week and pretty much everyday since, I've gotten to walk outside to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. It's always 80F and breezy; cool and sunny. I don't even mind the cloudbursts. In fact, I like the cloudbursts. It's fantastic. At home, there's nothing but dirt and rocks. Out here, there's grass and enjoyable sunshine and... and... trees. Trees with flowers that don't poke you with thorns and deliver poisonous barbs (yes, the flora in Arizona is that devious). It's amazing.

On Friday, I got the grand tour of HPU's two campuses. They had some great buildings and resources. I was especially pleased with the Department of Marine Sciences at the Windward campus. Absolutely phenomenal. The campus is sitting literally in the middle of an amazing mountain landscape only a short way from the ocean. I wouldn't mind shelling out a fortune to attend school there. The other people in my tour group weren't as enthused - they were more interested in the athletics department.

After that, we went to Waikiki for the weekend, where we stayed until Monday. We got to enjoy some awesome beaches, great food, and kitschy shopping. I love kitsch. I really do. Yesterday, I got to do some souvenir shopping, all of which is going to be shipped home sometime late this week or early next week. I'm hoping to time it just right and get home either right before or right after it arrives in my mailbox.

Hawaii is fantastic. I'm so glad I made the trip out here. Even if I am aching all over in places I didn't know existed from all the walking...

Also, the fresh air is good for my slowly-reviving creativity. I spent an hour or two sitting on the beach yesterday and fleshing out a new story. :) I keep drawing outlines and I never really follow up on them, which is kind of upsetting, but... Here's hoping that this one bears fruit.

In the meantime, it's time to do some homework. Yay, Watergate!

With my freeze ray, I will stop-
