Jewel has been in my life since she was two weeks old. I was five at the time. We grew up together. She's been at my side since the day she came into my life and she was the most loving, affectionate, dainty little dog that anyone could ask for. She's a little princess.
Tonight at 7:35 PM, Jewel passed away. Thankfully, she was not alone when it happened. She was in the arms of people who loved her dearly and hated to see her go. These last few months have been very rough on her and I'm comforted in the knowledge that she's not in any more pain.
I love you, darling girl, and I miss you. I hate to have to say good-bye to you, especially today, one day before Thanksgiving and a few days before your fourteenth birthday. But I know it's for the best. Say hi to Aurora and Pichu. Tomorrow at Thanksgiving dinner, you will be what I'm thankful for.
