Withholding the name and the gender of this particular subject to cover my own ass in case someone reading my blog tattles on me.

I see these people raising this child and while I know I have no right to comment on what they're teaching him/her, I can't help but notice certain glaring traits that just... make me physically ill. His/her parents have taught him/her through their own examples that if he/she doesn't like something, it's stupid. If he/she doesn't understand it, it's stupid. And if other people like something that he/she doesn't like, that makes them stupid. If other people don't like something that he/she does like, that makes them stupid, too.

And that's only the beginning.

His/her parents have taught him that my house is always a mess, that elements of the house need to be replaced or fixed, and that my living conditions are sub-par. Whether or not he/she really thinks so is beside the point - it's what his/her parents have put into his/her head. And honestly, it's pissing me the fuck off. I can't blame the child; it's not his/her words coming out of his/her mouth. But at the same time, it's making me incredibly resentful of both him/her and his/her parents. One parent in particular, really, who I know is the one putting him/her up to what he/she has said.

Ugh.

I completely respect peoples' rights to raise their children the way they see fit, but is this really necessary? Do they really have to teach their children how to verbally abuse other people? Do they have to put words in their kids' mouths by talking behind other people's backs and then laugh when they hear it repeated? It makes me fucking crazy because I know exactly who put him/her up to this...
